Beverage Label Design
Fresh Ginger Beverage
I was asked by a friend to design a label for her homemade traditional Ghana beverage. After she noticed that the specialty store in Denver imported the product from New Jersey she decided to produce and deliver it locally. Her clients are loving it! The competitive product currently on the market did not stand out (in our opinion). After researching current fresh beverage designs and trends, I decided to go with something a bit different that could stand out in the crowd. The beverage has a very spicy ginger/pineapple flavor so I went a bit literal with the illustration. Let's face it ginger is tasty but not attractive, however the flower is so this was the direction I took. I tested the design and beverage with some college students and several friends (including one who does not care for pineapple. The taste testing was a big hit, everyone really liked the flavor and spice to the beverage and this was the label everyone picked first.
The customer went with a three panel wrap label. For the next printing, the illustration (pineapple leaves) will be expanded since it changed to one sheet.
Prototype, proof of how it would look. The bottle and dimensions changed and a wrap label chosen. The illustration was also refined more.
